So, is it like a giant popover or like a crusty custard? I’m thinking it looks more like a popover from the pictures. Yummy!

  • crankycheryl

More like a popover, but definitely custard-y. However, from pictures I’ve seen, I think it would end up differently shaped than mine always do.

That looks fabulous. My godmother used to make a baked pancake and then put butter, sugar and lemon juice on it. Heavenly- your dutch pancake resembles it.

Thanks for the visit, Susanne! Do you happen to remember if your godmother’s version went up on the sides? Looking at the pictures of the real thing, I’m wondering if I ought to be doing something a little different.

  • Susanne Ryan

Yes it did go up on the sides. I think you are doing everything right- I can still taste that pancake dripping with butter, lemon juice and powdered sugar. Yum.
