    So, is it like a giant popover or like a crusty custard? I’m thinking it looks more like a popover from the pictures. Yummy!

  • More like a popover, but definitely custard-y. However, from pictures I’ve seen, I think it would end up differently shaped than mine always do.

    That looks fabulous. My godmother used to make a baked pancake and then put butter, sugar and lemon juice on it. Heavenly- your dutch pancake resembles it.

  • Thanks for the visit, Susanne! Do you happen to remember if your godmother’s version went up on the sides? Looking at the pictures of the real thing, I’m wondering if I ought to be doing something a little different.

    Yes it did go up on the sides. I think you are doing everything right- I can still taste that pancake dripping with butter,lemon juice and powdered sugar. Yum.
